2026 Season — Parent Information
Everything you need to know for the MVP Dolphins season. Bookmark this page.
About our team
- MVP Dolphins is a volunteer-run community team — we cannot operate without parent participation
- Volunteering is mandatory for all families (see below)
Schedule & practices
- Practice days, times, and location are posted on this site
- Morning practices begin the week of June 8th, once most kids are finished with school
- Ideally swimmers attend 3 practices per week — but there is no formal attendance requirement
- Club swimmers are welcome
- Practice attendance helps coaches place swimmers in the right events and relays
Swim meets
- One meet per week, held on Saturday mornings
- Exact deck time will be communicated the week of the meet — generally plan for 7:00–7:30 AM depending on location and warm-up time
- Meets run until approximately noon
- Swimmers are expected to stay for the full meet and cheer their teammates — summer swim is a team sport
- Meets matter more than practices for team function — relays and scoring depend on attendance
Scratching policy ⚠️ Important
Deadline: 8:00 PM the Tuesday before each meet — no exceptions.
- The scratch form is on this site under each meet listing
- It is very important to scratch if you do not plan on attending
- The assumption is that your swimmer will compete. If your swimmer is entered in an event and does not show up, you have taken a spot from another swimmer who could have swum
Divisionals
- Divisionals is not just for the fastest swimmers — qualification can be surprising
- Staying engaged all season matters; you may qualify and not even realize it
Team suits, caps & equipment
- Team suit and cap are provided by us — please come to at least one practice in the first two weeks to pick yours up
- Your swimmer does not have to wear the team suit, but all suits must meet PMSL competition regulations
- If you need a waiver, contact info@mvpdolphins.com
PMSL swimwear regulations (follows USA Swimming rules)
- Suits for men may not extend above the navel or below the knee; suits for women may not cover the neck, extend past the shoulders, or go below the knee
- No zippers or fastening devices are allowed, except for a waist tie on a brief or jammer
- Suits must be textile material — no rubberized materials such as polyurethane or neoprene
- Swimmers must wear only one swimsuit (one or two pieces); a single set of garments may be worn underneath for modesty or privacy
- Waiver requests for medical, religious, or other reasons must be submitted to the League President at least 72 hours before the swimmer's first meet
